. . . But not in my Backyard
Monday,
26 July 2004 - Heard
a dump truck toward the northern end of the site
cleaning out his load this morning at 6:24a.
So did another neighbor.
We
did notice one difference . . . two workers were
wearing their hard hats this morning. First I've
seen since this project started.
Gravel
mound showed up near our fence next to the concrete
pipes.

While
my wife was in the house on the cell phone with
Alabama State Representative Jeremy Oden's secretary,
a dump truck was slamming his door behind our
house to clear the excess dirt . The secretary
heard it over the phone and exclaimed,
"Oh my ---, who got
shot?" It was the sound
of the rear door hitting the container which
could be heard that clearly from inside our home.
We're now suffering from shell shock after this
many days of the noise
pollution.
Work
ended around 5:45p due to a rain storm.
